Description
Welcome to Brook Farm - A nice little place in the country.A farmstead dating from around 1550, in the Teme Valley amid the lovely Welsh Marches countryside and close to some of the best restaurants in the country. Our farmhouse and holiday cottages nestle in about two acres of much-loved garden surrounded by our woodland and meadows throughout which we are careful to protect the environment and its wildlife.
BED & BREAKFAST
Breakfast at Brook Farm is served in the morning. Any time in the morning, just so long as it's morning. If you are here with friends, you can book our late Sunday Brunch.
The BLUE ROOM is in the oldest part of the house, as you will see from the beams, and the very wonky landing floor on the way in. There is an ensuite bathroom but mind your head on the door!
The GREEN ROOM overlooks the crab apple lawn at the front of the house. It is a light and spacious double room, with armchairs, and its own adjoining bathroom which has a shower, and a big bath with candles and incense for a truly relaxing time.
Both rooms are centrally heated and the bathrooms have nice warm towel rails. They have Freeview TV, wifi, hairdryers and natural toiletries. We accept children if you book both rooms.
If you book The ORCHARD WING you will have the Green Room and sole use of the guest sitting room. We will take no other bookings for the duration of your stay.
DINING & RELAXING
We have a dining room where your breakfast will be served, and a very private separate guest sitting room with a wood-burning stove, with comfy sofas and chairs.
There's also a selection of complimentary teas and coffees, and there's always biscuits or a nice piece of cake to tide you over until supper.
If you want to stay home during the evening Sarah can provide a cold platter of local meats, cheeses with Ott's Mustard and artisan bread in the summer or some homemade soup and a local burger by the fire in the winter.
SELF CATERING
We have two one bedroom cottages: the Hen House and the Hop Picker's House which are available for self-catering breaks of two nights or more. All you need for your first breakfast (and probably your second) is provided in your welcome hamper of our own eggs and lovely local fare.
In summer a platter of local meats and cheeses can be provided for the night you arrive; in winter you can have some homemade soup and a local burger. You can also ask us to order a box of organic vegetables to go with them. Just let us know what you need and we will sort it!
THE ACCOMMODATION
Linen and towels are provided, as well as locally made soap and other natural toiletries. The kitchens are fully equipped and essentials such as salt, pepper, oil and garlic are provided as is an initial supply of tea, coffee and sugar. Both cottages are centrally heated and have Freeview TV, a DVD player, and wifi for doing your emails and browsing.
The HEN HOUSE is the smaller of the two cottages and is attached to the old Hop Kiln, and has a lovely bedroom, a big bathroom with bath and shower, and a long open plan sitting room/kitchen.
The HOP PICKERS' HOUSE is much bigger than The Hen House and is on two floors. It has a farmhouse style kitchen with rocking chairs next to the wood burner downstairs and a huge bedroom with four poster bed and a sofa snug open to the rafters upstairs. There's also a bathroom with bath and walk in shower. It's spacious, stylish and snug.
