Description
Welcome to Upper Lightwood Farm.Home to the Houghton family who have lived at Upper Lightwood Farm in the village of Lower Broadheath near the city of Worcester since 1949.
It was originally a mixed farm, then it moved entirely into milking cows and now has beef cattle and holiday cottages which are available for rent throughout the year.
Choose between MAYBURY - a detached, self contained bungalow. Maybury is let Saturday- Saturday.
Or
MALVERN VIEW - attached to the main farmhouse, but completely separate. Malvern View is let Friday- Friday
MAYBURY will accommodate 2-4 people, children are welcome.
It has a lounge with wood burner, a kitchen/dinning room, fridge/freezer, electric cooker, microwave and a washer/dryer, bathroom/shower, separate w/c, three bedrooms, one double, one twin and a third with 1 single bed, electric heating, wifi access, garage and parking for two cars.
Tariff includes bed linen, electricity and heating. Towels are provided at additional cost.
MALVERN VIEW will accommodate 2-6 people, children are welcome.
It has a lounge with patio doors onto the garden, kitchen/dinning room, fridge/freezer,electric cooker,dish washer and microwave, 2 bathrooms/ shower, three bedrooms, two double and one twin, separate utility room with washing machine and dryer, central heating and parking for two cars.
Tariff includes bed linen, electricity and heating, towels are provided at an additional cost.
Both cottages are well equipped and maintained by the owners Richard and Christine Houghton who live on site in the farmhouse.
Visit Britain have awarded the rating 4 stars to both cottages.
We operate a no smoking and no dog policy.
THE AREA
Lower Broadheath is located 3 miles west of Worcester just off the A44 (main road into Wales) and only a 15 minute drive from the M5.
The village is on the composer Sir Edward Elgar's trail and his birthplace museum is a short walk from the holiday cottages.
There are two local pubs within walking distance where meals are served. We also have a village shop and post office.
It is an excellent location for walking the many footpaths in the area and exploring the Heart of England.
There are many towns and cities to visit within easy reach Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bristol, Birmingham, Stratford upon Avon (home to Shakespeare) and Warwick.
The Cotwolds and the border into Wales is only a 40 minute drive from the farm.
The Malvern Hills are close by and they can be seen very clearly from Malvern View holiday cottage.
